Valentine’s Ikebana

This Valentine’s day, the Dept. of Family and Consumer Sciences’ Home Garden Network worked with Mental Health Kokua to show support for those struggling with mental health challenges by making and donating ikebana flower arrangements.

Undergraduate students and volunteers from FCS’ Human Development and Family Studies program brought together 150 members of the community to spread kindness and love in the free ikebana workshop. Using flora harvested from UH Manoa’s free garden, participants created two flower arrangements, one to keep and another to donate to Mental Health Kokua.
