Sanjeev Wasti, a recent alumnus of the Dept. of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences, has been awarded the 2020 Poultry Science Association Hatchery Outstanding Student Member Award!
Sanjeev, who just completed his MS in Animal Science degree under the mentorship of Birendra Mishra and is headed to Cornell University to begin his doctoral program this Fall, will receive a plaque and $1,000 at the 2020 PSA virtual meeting.
“He accomplished his research work with great initiative and a very positive attitude—he was outstanding throughout his stay in my lab,” Birendra says.
Sanjeev also received the Certificate of Excellence for best research and presentation in the Nutrition and Metabolism section at the 2019 Poultry Science Association meeting in Montreal, Canada.
The PSA Hatchery is a student organization of the Poultry Science Association that aims to foster the advancement of its student members in the classroom, industry, and the community. The Student of the Year award recognizes exceptional student members, and this is the fourth PSA award received by students in Birendra’s lab in the last two years!
