Center on the Family specialist Sarah Yuan has been awarded a $750 scholarship by the Roy A. Goff Memorial Endowment Fund to participate in the National Conference of Epsilon Sigma Phi, the Extension Professionals’ Organization, in Colorado in October. As vice chair of the Hawaii ESP Chapter, Sarah is taking the lead on identifying and supporting professional-development training needs of Extension colleagues in Hawai‘i. The conference will serve as professional development for Sarah as well as an opportunity for her to connect with ESP members from across the US and gather ideas to shape the local Extension professional-development program.
The Roy A. Goff Endowment, managed by representatives of Epsilon Sigma Phi Extension organization, Hawaii Association of Extension 4-H Agents, and the Hawaii Association of County Agricultural Agents, supports professional development for CTAHR Extension faculty and staff. The call for applications for the next scholarship will be announced in August. For information about the scholarship, email Julia Zee at zee@hawaii.edu.
