Outdoors, Online

Don’t miss out on these exciting summer courses, taught remotely

Outdoors, Online

Interested in marine or terrestrial wildlife, animal conservation, zoology, or biocontrol? Three online summer courses will teach students how to help and regulate creatures great and small, on land and in the water!

Learn how to fight invasive species like insects and weeds safely and naturally, without pesticides and herbicides, by using their own natural enemies against them. PEPS422/SUST422, Biocontrol of Invasive Species (CRN 96220) will cover theory and practice, including contributions of biocontrol to economic, environmental, and societal sustainability. In fact, it’s cross-listed as a sustainability-focused course. Taught by Mark Wright, it’s offered in the first summer session, May 26–July 2.

NREM 491 Topics in NREM: Reptile and Amphibian Conservation and Management (CRN 97297) and NREM 491 Topics in NREM: Terrestrial and Marine Mammal Management, Science and Regulation (CRN 96908) will be taught in the second summer session, July 6–August 14. They are only available during summer, so take them while you can! They may be taken simultaneously. For more information, contact Micah Brodsky at mbrodsky@hawaii.edu.
