PEPS grad student with coconut rhinocerus beetle.

"I was first attracted toward doing research under the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) project with Dr. Melzer, because I wanted to work toward protecting Hawaii, our agriculture, and our native palm species from the spread of this invasive pest. Taking a broader perspective, I also find this research to be important in protecting the continental US from the spread of CRB, and the damage this pest can cause."
