CTAHR agents and researchers, along with other agricultural professionals, partnered to host a well-attended and well-received conference on August 1 at Leeward Community College. The 84 attendees listened and learned as presenters from across the state delivered current information on assorted agricultural topics including sustainable and organic agriculture programs in Hawai‘i; carrot, celery, and cauliflower variety trials; food safety for farmers and homemade food producers; and management strategies for critical pests and diseases threatening Hawai‘i crops. The talks on fertilizers and on lepidopteran resistance research were especially appreciated by attendees. CTAHR is grateful to the presenters and partners who assisted with the conference and to the growers for their time and dedication to farming!
