Presentations Guidelines

 

Oral presentations are allotted 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions/discussion. Speakers should rehearse their presentation and remain within the allotted time. Presentations will be pre-loaded onto computers in conference meeting rooms.  To submit your presentation click here All presentations must submit by May 15, 2017 and follow the instructions below:

  • Presentations will only be accepted in electronic format through the link provided via a Microsoft PowerPoint format (.ppt).  Name your file using the following format, "Presentation_" followed by the Last name of the presenting author and First initial, (i.e. Presentation_LastF).  
  • The use of personal computers belonging to a presenter may cause delays in the oral sessions; therefore, personal computers will be allowed only if the presenter must use a program other than Microsoft PowerPoint, and if the presenter has the prior written approval of conference committee. Please contact apmbc.hawaii.2017@gmail.com for approval. 
  • Microsoft Windows 10 will be the operating system for the presentations. Please prepare your presentation file compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint program in Windows 10 system. An LCD projector (Compatibility: Windows PC) and a PC (Windows 10, MS PowerPoint 2007, 2010 & Adobe Acrobat Reader) will be available in every session room. A laser pointer and microphone will be provided.
  • Mac PowerPoint users are encouraged to preview their presentations on a PC before submitting. 
  • We recommend using standard fonts such as New Times Roman and Arial. If you use a special font for your presentation it may not be translated properly on the local PC.
  • We recommend that you bring your presentation on a USB flash memory stick or CD-R as a back-up in its original file format as well as Adobe Acrobat (i.e. pdf).

Student Presentations

 

Student presentations will be judged by a select panel using the rubric on the right. Awardees will be selected and called upon during the Awards Banquet on the last night of the conference, May 24, 2017,  to receive recognition for their award.
