Whee, 3-M-E-P!
This year saw another successful 3MEP competition, in which students present their highly technical research projects in a short, concise, and audience-friendly format. Winners are as follows: Michael Honda won among PhD students, Natalija Glibetic among MS students, Rebecca Barone amongst undergraduates, and Duc Nguyen for the People’s Choice award. All are MBBE students, and all were first- or second-place winners at the Student Research Symposium. About 100 people attended to listen to the presentations and vote on their choice for People’s Choice, and each winner received $1250, thanks to the ASAO. Not only that, but three of the 3MEP winners also competed in UHM’s 3MT (3-Minute Thesis) competition, which has a similar format. Michael Honda was a finalist, and Natalija Glibetic won 2nd place in the graduate division of 3MT! The MBBE student monitors, including Erick Delgado, even received honorable mention from the judges for their professional conduct and attention to detail!
