Floral Fridays

Come by the Hamilton Library Bridge Gallery to check out #floralfridays, an exhibition of student works in the Tropical Plants and Soil Sciences floriculture arts class TPSS 491/711. The exhibition opened March 16 and will run through April 13, with one component changing every week. Students are showcasing new works as they learn different techniques, with items from wearable florals to pressed plant art, as well as information on topics such as plants’ role in indoor environments. The course is designed to acquaint students with the different aspects of floral design/floristry, provide hands-on experience on making different floriculture products, and provide opportunities to design and develop their own new floricultural products. It’s part of the newly designed undergraduate program on Tropical Agriculture and Environment. Contact Assistant Researcher Orville Baldos at obaldos@hawaii.edu for information.
