The Start of an Exciting Career
MBBE alumnus Zhibin (Ben) Liang will be starting his post-doctoral career at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, continuing the research on Alzheimer’s disease that has already garnered him success. Ben recently wrote to thank CTAHR for its many avenues of support for students, including the Student Research Symposium and 3MEP Competition. He wrote, “These two annual events encourage us to showcase our research and strengthen our communication skills, which are critical for graduate students’ career development.” Ben certainly succeeded in these, winning the top awards representing MBBE and going on to present his research at several national and international conferences over the past three years. He was also awarded this year’s UH Doctoral Student Excellence in Research award. He hopes that one day he will be able to give back to the people in CTAHR for all that they have done for him and other graduate students. Best of luck to Ben in his future endeavors!
