Students can gain benefits by mentoring

CTAHR is recruiting mentors for the Grow With Us Mentoring Program, which helps high school students from Waipahu and Leilehua High Schools to develop their readiness for college and careers, explore STEM and agricultural fields, and get hands-on experience in the community. The mentors will also gain experience in leadership, lesson planning, problem-solving, teamwork, and much more.

Mentors will work with four high school students on a monthly basis from May 2020 to April 2021. As a mentor, you will earn $3,000. To be eligible, you must be enthusiastic to help high school students, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as being available for monthly sessions. The application deadline is Tuesday, March 31, at 5pm. Mentors should be friendly and energetic UHM CTAHR students and alumnus who want to help high school students succeed. Priority is given to early applicants, interviews will be offered on a rolling basis.
