Fashion Design and Merchandising is a premier fashion program in the Pacific, ranked 8th on the 2016 list of top West Coast fashion design schools. Biological Engineering majors study the design, production, and operation of engineered systems in which living organisms (plants, animals, aquatic species, cells, etc.) are a major component.
If you are interested in developing bio-fuels, creating new sources of animal and fish food, or designing handheld sensors to detect pathogens, then BE is the BS program for you.
Work in government or industry as an engineer or become an entrepreneur. Design equipment and systems for biological production and treatment, develop renewable energy processes, investigate methods for bioremediation of environmental contamination, or improve the value of natural products for food and therapeutic applications.
Molecular Biosciences and Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary BS program focusing on using the cutting-edge tools of molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, tissue culture, and biochemistry to transform the environmental, medical, and agricultural sciences. Bioscience tools are harnessed to make products for and solve problems faced by society.
If you want to use biotechnology to develop pharmacueticals, economically and environmentally sustainable energy, pest controls, and other products, then MBB is for you.
Careers Opportunities include pharmaceutical research, genetic testing, aquaculture, large-scale production in bioreactors, environmental monitoring and cleanup (bioremediation), plant biotechnology, pathogen control, molecular diagnostics, and forensics.
