ASAO Spotlight: Jessica Stenstrom

Over the next several newsletters, CTAHR's Academic and Student Affairs Office will highlight different members of our ʻohana. Read on to learn more about our office!

Name: Jessica Stenstrom

Position: Academic Advisor

How long have you been with CTAHR? 1 year at CTAHR and 7 years total with the UH

Describe your job in 2 sentences: I work with undergraduate students of CTAHR and help them with their academic journey by providing support and direction. My goal is to be a trusting resource for students when they need guidance in any aspect of their lives.

Best thing about working in CTAHR: The people of CTAHR - students, staff, faculty, community members and alumni. Everyone at CTAHR is so welcoming, helpful, kind and caring for one another. Whenever I meet people from CTAHR at different events, it makes me so proud to be a part of CTAHR.

What do you do for fun? My family and I love to travel and when we travel we always have a sports game on the agenda. We've been fortunate to watch the LA Lakers, Vegas Golden Knights, Green Bay Packers and San Diego Padres just to name a few.

Fun fact about yourself: I love everything about sports - but I really love fun trivia about sports and athletes. For example, did you know that Javale McGee (NBA player) and his mom, Pamele McGee (former WNBA player), were the first American mother and son duo to win Olympic gold medals for Team USA?
