ASAO Spotlight: Irene Morrow

Name: Irene Morrow

Position: Academic Advisor

How long have you been with CTAHR? 8 years at CTAHR and 15 years total with the UH System.

Describe your job in 2 sentences: I assist undergraduate students in navigating their academic journey by providing guidance on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies. I also offer support in addressing academic and personal challenges that students may encounter and guide them in making informed decisions to achieve their educational goals.

Best thing about working in CTAHR: My coworkers. 😊 We have an outstanding group of people in ASAO. They help me get through the work day and they do so many great events and programming for the college.

What do you do for fun? I love to spend time with my husband and visit different restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops. ☕️🥐 I also enjoy doing crossword puzzles and working out at Parado Power, my gym. 🏋🏻‍♀️

Fun fact about yourself: I’ll share a couple of things…1) I love eating Vietnamese food. 🍲 My mom is from Saigon and came to the U.S. during the Vietnam war. According to her, I’ve loved Vietnamese cuisine since I was in the womb! 2) I am a Master of Sport in Kettlebell Sport aka Girevoy Sport. It’s a type of competitive weightlifting. If you come to my office, you’ll see kettlebells on the floor. 🤭
