CTAHR Welcomes New Students for the Spring 2023 Term!

Welcome to our new CTAHR students for the Spring 2023 semester! Our Academic and Student Affairs Office (ASAO) held our Spring 2023 New Student Orientation on Friday, January 6, 2023. Students from our undergraduate programs participated in a series of fun and exciting college-specific events:

  • Introduction and Welcome to ASAO and CTAHR Advising
  • Guest Speakers Kaleohano Farrant and Isaiah Wagenman
  • Breakout Sessions with Current CTAHR Faculty
  • Campus Tour with CTAHR Student Ambassadors
  • Lunch with Some Members of the ASAO Staff!

We were delighted to have current Natural Resources and Environmental Management (NREM) graduate students talk with our new cohort. They discussed what it means to be a student at a striving Native Hawaiian Place of Learning and went into depth about our CTAHR ʻOli, which was composed by NREM professor, Mehana Vaughan.

Another highlight of the Spring 2023 CTAHR NSO were the breakout sessions with current faculty. Students had the opportunity to meet with professors from their specific department to ask questions about their majors, classes, and schedules. Our new CTAHR students also received a campus tour from current student ambassadors. They learned about which buildings their CTAHR courses will be in, where to find resources, and some campus history!

During the Summer of 2023 we will release more details about our plans for the Fall 2023 CTAHR New Student Orientation Experience, so keep your eyes on your inbox for exciting opportunities!
