"I enjoy looking at students’ project presentation, especially a line up of all their garments. I also enjoy taking videos for their creation ad styling. Please see FDM Instagram."

What motivates you as a teacher?

"Best teaching moment is after 1.15 hour of lecture, it feels as if only 5-10 minutes had passed, and students are still in their seats attentive and engaged. I miss teaching in person!"

"Receiving the 2017 CTAHR Excellence in Teaching Award and the 2019 UH President's Citation for Meritorious Teaching. Also, receiving my name in Japanese kanji from students--the kanji of my first name translated to: happy dragon who inspires others."
