About Us

Aloha!

Thanks for checking out the page! I'm using this space to share info from my research and hopefully to connect with you. I am a conservation biologist trained in entomology with a focus on bees. I am fascinated with bee diversity, insect societies, pollination ecology, wildlife conservation, detecting and overcoming pollinator pathogens and pests, nest architecture and immature development. I'll try to keep the page updated as often as possible. Some of the material might seem overly technical, while other info might seem elementary, this is due to striving for the highest level research while also trying to make the results open and available for anyone. Please let me know if there is anything you'd like to learn about more and I will try to help.

Many Thanks & Please Enjoy!

DR. JASON GRAHAM

Dr. Jason Graham has been developing conservation for the endangered Hawaiian yellow-faced bees at University of Hawai'i at Mānoa since 2014. He graduated from University of Florida where he worked with solitary native bees as part of his PhD studies. He has designed and is testing an artificial nest system that has helped him to study the ecology, development and nest architecture of the Hawaiian yellow-faced bees. Dr. Graham is working to protect and enhance the habitat which the Hawaiian yellow-faced bees depend upon for food and nesting resources in collaboration with State and Federal agencies as well as local community and school groups. Dr. Graham has presented his bee research during the Pollinator Symposium at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC,has led ‘Pollinators in Paradise’ field trips for the IUCN Conference in Honolulu, and his work has been featured by National Geographic.
