The Hawaii Department of Agriculture is currently considering proposed changes to the Administrative Rules regarding Chapter 4-72, Hawaii Administrative Rules, by adding a new section: §4-72-13 Quarantine restrictions on ohia and soil from rapid ohia death infested areas. If the Department decides to adopt the proposed rule changes, the quarantine restrictions for ohia would become permanent. Those interested in moving ohia or soil can potentially do so if they go through the HDOA permitting process and submit their materials for fungal testing.
