Food Science and Human Nutrition (Dietetics)

Food IngredientsThe Dietetics BS integrates the principles of food, nutritional, and biomedical sciences and human behavior and culture to analyze and design appropriate diets that promote health and prevent disease. The coursework meets the academic requirements for dieticians established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. A dietetic internship or approved intern program is required to become a Registered Dietitian.

Sea Snail LabMolecular Biosciences and Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary BS program focusing on using the cutting-edge tools of molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, tissue culture, and biochemistry to transform the environmental, medical, and agricultural sciences. Bioscience tools are harnessed to make products for and solve problems faced by society.

If you want to use biotechnology to develop pharmacueticals, economically and environmentally sustainable energy, pest controls, and other products, then MBB is for you.

Sea Snail Careers Opportunities include pharmaceutical research, genetic testing, aquaculture, large-scale production in bioreactors, environmental monitoring and cleanup (bioremediation), plant biotechnology, pathogen control, molecular diagnostics, forensics.
