Hawaiʻi Extension Climate Forum

The Climate Forums are knowledge exchange events designed to create a space for interactive learning and discussion about how the diverse clientele served by Cooperative Extension can effectively respond to regional climate change impacts.  Climate Forums are specifically aimed at increasing awareness of and access to climate-related information, resources and tools by Extension faculty in Hawaiʻi and the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPI).

The Hawaiʻi Extension Climate Forum took place on June 7-8, 2017 at the International Imin Conference Center at the East-West Center on the UH Mānoa campus.

The main objectives of HEC Forum were to:

  1. Develop foundational knowledge of regional climate change science
  2. Identify locally relevant strategies for climate adaptation and communication
  3. Incorporate climate-related information and tools into CES programs
