Samir Khanal (MBBE) and co-authors, including his grad students Chayanon Sawatdeenarunat, K.C. Surendra, and Devin Takara, published an article in the highly rated journal Bioresource Technology that has attained the distinction of being one of the journal’s most frequently cited papers in the last three years! 
 

A CTAHR scientist and his protoge describe the benefits of microaeration in anaerobic digestion process in their recent critical review research paper in Biotechnology Advances.

Researcher Jennifer Doudna, a pioneer of CRISPR research, will present a special seminar on “CRISPR Biology: The Future of Genome Editing” on Tuesday, September 18 at 3 p.m. in the Sullivan Center Auditorium at the UH Cancer Center (in Kaka‘ako, next to JABSOM). 

Samir Khanal (MBBE) recently returned from Indonesia, where he was invited to deliver a summer course and special lectures at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta. He also participated in discussions with university representatives about research collaborations and student exchange possibilities.

A JABSOM project that Jon-Paul Bingham (MBBE) is involved with has just been awarded a $19 million grant to fund undergraduate research. He is the director of PATHway to Biomedical Careers, which organizes and oversees student research activities at partnering community colleges and private universities in conjunction with local campus coordinators.
