FCS Teaching Award Nominations

Congratulations to Rick Caulfield, Georgia Lynn Yamashita, and Andy Reilly for being nominated to the teaching award!

Rick Caulfield

23 years with CTAHR

What was your best teaching moment?

"Just one? More like countless moments, given that I have had over 14,000 students. Many have said HDFS 230 was the one of the best courses they've ever taken. I consider getting to know each student to be the best thing about teaching."

Georgia Lynn Yamashita

20 years with CTAHR

What motivates you as a teacher?

"It's exciting to work with students in their final semester, who are on the cusp of transitioning from students to professionals. Seeing their emerging skills and developing maturity is always a motivator for me."

Andy Reilly

11 years (as faculty) with CTAHR

What was your best teaching moment?

"When two of my Japanese-speaking students used the syllables of my first name--Andrew--to write it in kanji and told me the kanji means "happy dragon who inspires others.""
