CTAHR Fall Fair!
On September 15, CTAHR had its Fall Fair. Approximately 200 faculty, students, and staff attended the event and enjoyed games, demonstrations, giveaways, and prizes from all of our participating CTAHR organizations, academic departments and academic programs. Attendees learned about food science and human nutrition, entomology, horticulture, plant pathology, fashion design, natural resource and environmental management, and lots, lots, more! And, when they weren’t busy engaging with all of our CTAHR tables, they were taking selfies at the CTAHR photo booth!
A total of three contests occurred at this event. The first was the ice cream eating contest, the second was the contest for Best Table, and the third was the contest for Greatest Attendance. Winners of these contests would win an ice cream party for their department, $500 for their organization, and $1,000 for their program, respectively. Rudy Ramirez won the ice cream eating contest, and thanks to his excellent ice cream eating skills the Food Science and Human Nutrition program (FSHN) won a departmental ice cream party. Biological Engineering Student Association (BESA) won the “Best Table” category and will be receiving $500 for their organization. Tropical Agriculture and the Environment program (TAE) won the “Greatest Attendance” category and will be provided with $1,000 for student activities.
