Meaningful Experience 2017

CTAHR hosted it’s 14th Annual Meaningful Experience in Kona. Twenty Undergraduate and Graduate Students along with Dean Nick Comerford and ASAO staff toured the area so students could observe, reflect, learn, think, and ideate new things. By traveling, even in a small scale, we are training students to broaden their understanding of the world which is essential to facing a global economy. Regardless of their degree program, the diversity of activities and topics presented to them and connections forged with their peers are sure to inspire students to continue working hard, be happy, and imagine more. Highlights from the trip include visiting Mealani Research Station, exploring Kohala’s Flume System, Team Building activities, touring the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority, feeding the octopuses at the Kanaloa Octopus Farm, and harvesting coffee berries at the UCC Coffee Farm.

Many thanks to Marla and Mealani staff, UHM’s Student Activity & Program Fee Board, and ASAO for their support.
