CTAHR Alumni & Friends BBQ with the Deans - Kauai 2024 Edition

CTAHR Alumni and Friends rang in a new year of festivities on January 13th with the 2024 Kauai BBQ with the Deans. A bright and beautiful day welcomed over 90 alumni, friends and community partners to the CTAHR Kaua’i Research Station. Participants chatted with interim Dean and Director of CTAHR Ania Wieczorek, Associate Dean and Associate Director of Research Walter Bowen, Associate Dean and Associate Director of Extension Jeremy Elliott-Engel and Interim Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs Catherine Chan to learn all about what is happening at the College. Our new Kaua’i County Administrator, Robin Tinghitella and the CTAHR Extension team also engaged guests with displays about their work and a tour of the station. The food was outstanding, as always, with our ASAO team members and FSHN Instructor Lara Hackney preparing a delicious lunch of teriyaki steak, beef and eggplant sliders, BBQ chicken, Okinawa sweet potato and tossed green salads. We were really excited to be able to source all of the meats and a majority of the vegetables from local farmers through ʻĀina Hoʻokupu O Kīlauea and Mālama Kaua’i. Special thanks to our pit bosses Chris Radovich and the Kaua’i Farm Bureau’s Jaime and Bob Barna who grilled up some amazing BBQ!
