Welcome Interim Associate Dean Catherine Chan!

We are pleased to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Catherine Chan, who has assumed the role of Interim Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs as of September 25, 2023. Catherine has been a dedicated member of the CTAHR ʻohana for over two decades, serving in various capacities, including as a faculty member in NREM, chair of NREM Department and the Graduate Program, NREM graduate and undergraduate advisor.

Catherine brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to CTAHR students and ASAO staff. As she transitions into her new role within ASAO, she will continue to draw upon her extensive knowledge and dedication to enhance the academic and student affairs of our college.

In her own words, Catherine expresses her enthusiasm: "I am excited to be part of the dynamic ASAO team and will continue the excellent professionalism and efficient working environment created by my predecessor, interim Dean Wieczorek. Student success and well-being is my priority, and I welcome ideas to improve upon."

Under Associate Dean Chan's leadership, the ASAO will remain committed to prioritizing CTAHR student needs by:

  • Providing students with the resources and guidance they need for academic success through Academic Advising.
  • Ensuring that student scholarships are awarded to outstanding and deserving students.
  • Facilitating connections between students and the community, as well as stakeholders, to help pave the way for successful employment opportunities after graduation through our internship program.
  • Overseeing the academic programs and courses to ensure they meet the highest standards.
  • Supporting student retention through our monthly student engagement events, our student lounge, and the student ambassador program.
  • Continuing to contribute to the college's growth by actively recruiting prospective students.
