CTAHR Celebrates Halloween & Upcoming Events!

CTAHR's Student Ambassadors hosted our annual Fall Fair on Thursday, October 27th.  CTAHR students we're treated to a blind taste test of organic, conventional, local, and non-local foods, free ice cream, pumpkin painting, origami, Halloween button making, Fall themed trivia, and jiangzi, while also picking up free canned goods, pantry items, and produce at Grab & Go. Check out the photos on CTAHR's Flickr and vote for your favorite CTAHR student and staff costume!  Voting ends on Wednesday, November 2nd at 11:59 PM.  Don't forget to register for our next Grab and Go on Thursday, November 17 from 12:30-2:30 PM.

On Friday, FSHN Instructor Lara Hackney led our online participants through a Japanese-themed meal of Harusame Soup, Inari Sushi with Chirashi Rice, and Andagi.  If you missed cooking with Lara, check out the recording on CTAHR's YouTube channel.  November's cooking show will feature fall-themed dishes of Mediterania White Bean Soup, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, and Roasted Kabocha with Marshmallows.  All CTAHR faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends are welcome!  Register for our next Cooking Show on Friday, November 18th at 5 PM on Zoom.

Join CTAHR Alumni and Friends and celebrate Arbor Day!  CTAHR AA and the Botanical Society of America Hawaiʻi chapter are hosting a plant sale on Sunday, November 6th from 9 AM - 12 pm at the Magoon Research Station.  A variety of herbs, vegetables, succulents, ferns, ornaments, and microgreen kits will be available for purchase.  All proceeds will go towards providing activities and resources for students.

UH Campus Arboretum is also giving away free trees on Friday, November 4th!  Join them for tree planting at 9:30 AM, a historic tree tour at 11 AM, and a free tree adoption from 12 - 3 PM.  Everyone is welcome!  Sign up for these exciting activities!
