All growers are invited to a day-long educational workshop: “CTAHR Ground Support: Research-Based Support for O‘ahu’s Fast-Paced Edible Crop Industry,” to learn about current agricultural research, practices, and information from CTAHR faculty and other agricultural partners. Topics will include crop variety trials for lettuce, carrots, celery, mamaki, and more; the Hawaii Seed Growers network; Integrated Pest Management for the pests diamondback moth, melon fly, nematodes, and slugs, and for the crops brassicas, basil, cacao, and sweetpotato; food safety, including FSMA and GroupGAP; status of sustainable and organic agriculture and market trends; Worker Protection Standards updates; and demonstration of field agricultural water sanitation. It will be held on Wednesday, August 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Leeward Community College ED 201 AB Room. Register at the
