Welcome to Hannah Lutgen, who is the new Maui County Extension agent for landscape and ornamental growers! It’s great to have her onboard as part of the team!
Hannah received her Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Horticulture from the University of Wisconsin in 2011 and comes to the college from her previous position as a conservation specialist with the Maui Soil and Water Conservation Districts (pictured here, right), where she wrote conservation plans for local farmers and also provided technical assistance and coordinated financial reimbursement through the USDA NRCS programs. She also has nursery experience transplanting, pruning, and propagating woody ornamentals, trees, perennials, herbs, fruits, and vegetables.
Hannah is looking forward to meeting and coordinating with her counterparts and other faculty on all the other islands as well. Drop her a line to connect and welcome her. You can reach her at(808)-244-3254 ext. 233 or hannahcl@hawaii.edu
