Extension faculty are invited to the annual Agricultural Professional Development training (AgPro) offered by CTAHR’S Sustainable and Organic Agriculture Program (SOAP), supported by the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program (WSARE) on November 5–6 on Kaua‘i at the Courtyard by Marriott Kaua'i at Coconut Beach. This will be a special event, since SOAP will be partnering with Epsilon Sigma Phi (ESP) to provide training for Extension educators in not only agriculture but all disciplines. Day 1 presentations will help increase participants’ understanding of Extension programing and evaluating impact, while Day 2 will include a half-day field trip.
This event is free. Register here before the deadline on October 25.
WSARE is able to provide travel assistance for Extension professionals on a needs basis, but funds are limited, with priority given to agents. To request assistance, please email Sharon Wages at smotomur@hawaii.edu, with subject line “AgPro travel assistance,” by 4:30 pm on October 18.
Sharon Wages and Jensen Uyeda are WSARE PDP co-coordinators, and Lynn Nakamura-Tengan is the ESP-Alpha Omega-Hawai‘i Chapter president.
