Advising News

Advisors are currently coordinating travel to the neighbor islands to represent CTAHR at college fairs sponsored by the Hawaii Association for College Admission Counseling (HACAC) and visit with our UH Community Colleges. We look forward to meeting with prospective students at these fairs next month and sharing our wonderful programs with them.

On September 8, advisor Irene Morrow attended the High School Counselor’s Workshop hosted by the Office of Admissions. At the workshop, she hosted a session for counselors to learn more about the academic programs CTAHR has to offer. The session included a panel in which current CTAHR students shared their experiences within their respective programs and answered questions from the counselors. In total, there were about 25 counselors that attended CTAHR’s session. Our student panelists were extraordinary and the session was a big success!

Looking ahead, advisors will be gearing up for mandatory advising season. Messages will be sent to students about mandatory advising shortly after the fifth week of the semester.
