University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa
Agricultural Science Building

2017 SRS Program

Thank you for your interest in the 29th Annual University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) and College of Engineering (COE) Student Research Symposium.

This annual event brings together graduate and undergraduate students to share the research they are pursuing under the supervision of faculty in CTAHR and COE. The students are able to present their findings, exchange information, and incorporate what they’ve learned from their peers into their own scholarly work.

We encourage all students to participate, so please set aside this date. We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the 29th Symposium.

About the Student Research Symposium

The program consists of research papers and posters presented by graduate students and research, review papers, capstone projects, and posters presented by undergraduate students.

The geographic isolation of the University of Hawai‘i and high travel expenses often prevent UH students from presenting their research at professional scientific conferences outside the state. The purpose of the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa’s CTAHR and COE Student Research Symposium is to provide students with the opportunity to present their scholarly work in a friendly yet professional setting similar to national and international conferences. The Symposium also serves to promote cooperation and collegiality among CTAHR and COE faculty and students. Through travel grant awards, the Symposium also enables students to compete for funding to present their research at a scientific conference outside the state.
