This series will feature experts discussing cutting-edge drought monitoring, assessment, and resource management tools designed to support decision-making in Hawaiʻi’s unique landscapes.

    Speaker: Brian Fuchs
    Learn how the U.S. Drought Monitor works in Hawaiʻi, how drought classifications are determined, and ways to contribute local knowledge to improve accuracy.

  • March 17th – Assessing Drought in Hawaiʻi: Trends, Tools, and Future Research Needs
    Speaker: Dr. Abby Frazier
    Explore historical drought trends in Hawaiʻi, the tools available for assessment, and key research gaps that need to be addressed for improved drought resilience.

  • March 24th – On the Way to Resilience: Exploring Two New Data Tools for Resource Managers in Hawaiʻi
    Speakers: Dr. Ryan Longman, Derek Ford, and Cherryle Heu
    Discover two newly developed tools that support resource managers in monitoring and responding to drought conditions in Hawaiʻi.
