This workshop will cover the key components of developing an effective mitigation plan and provide practical insights into assessing wildfire risks, understanding wildfire behavior, and implementing mitigation measures.
Format and Flow: Registration is required and will be sent a link via Zoom. The workshop will be comprised of approx. 45 minutes of educational content and Q&A, followed by breakout sessions per county, to promote connection, collaboration, and the sharing of information among our fire departments and those who own and steward lands.
Workshop 1: Wildfire Mitigation Planning Best Practices

Workshop 2: Lessons Learned from Wildfire Mitigation: Insights from Land Managers
Date: Tuesday, May 14th, 2024
  • Gain insights from a panel discussion on challenges and solutions in implementing mitigation strategies from a diverse set of experienced land managers. Ask questions regarding your challenges.
  • Join fire agency personnel for a county-specific breakout session.
Workshop 3: Wildfire Mitigation Grants, CWPPs, and Other Resources/Opportunities
Date: Tuesday, May 21st, 2024
  • Learn about available grants and funding opportunities for wildfire mitigation.
  • Understand the importance and development process of Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs), how you can be involved, and the status of CWPPs in your area.
  • Join fire agency personnel for a county-specific breakout session.
