Printing in the Lab

Once registered, the new user will be allotted a credit of $5.01 free of charge for printing in the lab. Each print job decreases the user's balance in the account. The cost per sheet is shown below,

Black and White Printing = $.05 per shee
Color Printing = $.15 per sheet

If the balance of the user's printing credit is running low, he/she may request to purchase additional print credit. DO NOT wait until the printing credit has been completely depleted.

Request Print Credit

Send an email to ctahrcl@ctahr.hawaii.edu, and provide the username and the amount to be added to the account. Once credit is added, the user must see Matthew Chun-Hori at Gilmore 214 to make the payment within one week. Failure to do so will result in revoking the printing privileges.

Troubleshoot common printing problems

1) Printing to the wrong printer.
"Microsoft Office Document Image Writer" is not a physical printer. It will ask you to save to a file, instead of printing to the printers in the lab. The lab has two printers, so select the proper printer name.

2) Allotted printing amount has been used up or reached $0.00.

After a user logs into the lab computer, he/she can check the print balance by moving the mouse over the system tray (shown left). When the amount reaches $0.00, the user would have to purchase additional credit in order to print. Please refer to "Request Print Credit" section.
