Alumna Taylor Rose Mendiola, who graduated from FDM in 2017, made it into the June 2018 issue of Vanity Fair UK for her swimwear line Rose Swim. The collection, which is designed in O‘ahu, has “dainty and fun pieces made from high-quality materials,” says the article, “designed to be both functional and feminine whilst making you feel confident.”

FDM’s 52nd annual fashion show
Save the date for FDM’s 52nd annual spring fashion show, “EN ROUTE”! It’s on April 29, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at UHM Campus Center Ballroom (2465 Campus Rd., Honolulu, HI 96822). It will feature a wide array of fashion from senior, junior, and specialty designers and include a silent auction. This year’s senior designers are Kaycee Yoshioka, Michelle Nino, and Jayme Pisciotto—each will present an original collection showcasing their unique design sensibility, as well as contributing to group collections. The junior designers will also offer a group collection, “Vogue Androgyny.” Tickets are available at the Fashion Show’s website. You can also email enrouteuhm@gmail.com for more information.
