Samir Khanal (MBBE) recently returned from Indonesia, where he was invited to deliver a summer course and special lectures at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta. One of the lectures, on “Conducting Hypothesis-Driven High-Quality Research and Student Mentoring,” was delivered to more than 20 PhD students, most of whom already have faculty positions at universities in Indonesia. Samir also gave lectures, including “Biogas and Biorefinery” and “Bioresource and Its Utilization,” to more than 30 Summer Course participants. He also participated in discussions with university representatives about research collaborations and student exchange possibilities. The trip furthered the college’s efforts in capacity building and making contributions in the Asia–Pacific region.
