CTAHR was out in force at the recent Ag Day at the Capitol, which gave legislators a glimpse of the many important impacts agriculture has in the Islands. Some of the college’s exhibitors included Jensen Uyeda, with the many-colored carrots from his most recent variety trial, and Amjad Ahmad (pictured) with the chickpeas and cowpeas he is trialing. PEPS was represented by Koon-Hui Wang, who discussed pests and soils, and Chrissy Mogren, who had an exhibit on bees. Representatives from the Pre-Vet Club and GoFarm training program were on hand to discuss their groups. NREM grad student Blaire Langston invited participants to join the Breadfruit Phenology project, and other CTAHR students, faculty, and alumni also made it clear that without a doubt, every day is ag day.
