There’s a rainbow in the ground! All are invited to an open house showcasing observations of a colorful carrot variety trial conducted at the Poamoho Research Station on Wednesday, February 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This field day will provide field observations of 24 commercially available carrot varieties; small-scale field-preparation equipment; sustainable pest-management strategies (chemigation); sensory evaluations of carrot recipes developed by the Kapi'olani Community College Culinary Program; carrot human nutritional values; and tours of organic field plots, nematode research trials, and other variety trials.
