Brian Bushe was honored January 20 at the Hawai‘i Floriculture and Nursery Association and Hawai‘i Florist and Shippers Association 70th Shinnenkai celebration. In addition to being the associations’ Special Honoree, the Plant and Environmental Protection Sciences staffer (wearing maile lei) was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the state House of Representatives presented by (from left) Representatives Sylvia Luke, Richard Onishi, and Mark Nakashima. He also received a certificate of appreciation from the state Senate, presented by Senators Lorraine Inouye and Jill Tokuda. Last, but not least, he was presented with a certificate of appreciation from Dean Nicholas Comerford, Interim Associate Dean of Extension Kelvin Sewake, and Interim CTAHR Hawai‘i County Administrator Susan Miyasaka.

The well-deserved recognition commended Bushe for his years of dedicated service to CTAHR and the agricultural community in Hawai‘i. The Kapa‘a High School graduate and CTAHR alumnus provides research support at CTAHR’s Komohana Research Station.
