Extension Looking for a Leader

Search is underway for an associate dean of Extension

Extension Looking for a Leader

The college is advertising for an associate dean for Cooperative Extension. The successful candidate will provide leadership and establish goals for a relevant and effective agricultural and human resources Cooperative Extension program.

Among the responsibilities of the position are approving, monitoring, and evaluating Extension projects; creating new initiatives; coordinating interdepartmental and interdisciplinary projects; and integrating Extension policies, priorities, and programs with the associate deans for research and for academic and student affairs.

The successful candidate will also oversee the Agriculture Diagnostic Service Center; coordinate the Extension budget and allocations of State and Federal Extension funds; serve on designated college, university, and national committees related to Extension outreach programs; and maintain close communication with agriculture, natural resources, community, and family organizations to identify Extension programming needs.

For more information and to apply for the position, go to the NeoGov website. If you have any questions, you can direct them to Jinzeng Yang at 956-6073 or Jinzeng@hawaii.edu; however, applications should be submitted through NeoGov. Application review begins April 6.

Many thanks are due to Jeff Goodwin (pictured), who has so ably stepped in to fill this position as an interim associate dean in addition to his duties as head of Hawai‘i 4-H.
