CTAHR alumna Raquel Wong is the state veterinarian and administrator of the Animal Industry Division of the Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture.
She is tasked with protecting Hawai‘i’s livestock and poultry industries through the control and prevention of pests and diseases. This includes maintaining the animal quarantine program and the State Veterinary Laboratory, as well as providing aquaculture and livestock support services.
The Animal Science graduate is in charge of disease investigation for both livestock and domestic animals, focusing both on keeping out diseases we don’t have out the Islands and dealing with those that are here.
