Alumna Margaret Baker (MBBE) was recently awarded the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Education and Literacy Initiative (AFRI ELI) postdoctoral research fellowship from NIFA. Her research explores the function of protein N-glycosylation in cereal crops, using the model grass purple false brome (Brachypodium distachyon).
Co-PIs Andre Seale and Rajesh Jha (both HNFAS), in collaboration with Darren Lerner and Darren Okimoto of the UH Sea Grant College Program, recently received a 3-year NOAA Sea Grant 2018 Aquaculture Initiative award of $749,815.
Community psychology scholar Bobbie Yee was named a Fellow by the American Psychological Association’s Society for Community Research and Action for her work on the reciprocal relationships between individuals and the social system.
Brent Sipes was named a Fellow of the Society of Nematologists for excellence in research and Extension and service to the society—an elite honor bestowed upon less than 1 percent of members in any given year.
HNFAS grad student Nirvay Sah's work on egg fomulation in hen oviducts won a best research and presentation award and a travel grant to receive it at the 2018 Poultry Science Association in Texas.
