Familiar Faces in New Places: Jennifer Hawkins

Welcome to a new role to Jennifer Hawkins, who has started her new position within CTAHR as the Edible Crops agent on Moloka‘i! Jennifer used to be the Moloka‘i Hawaiian Home Lands Agriculture junior Extension agent, where she inaugurated a successful program teaching farmers to keep bees as pollinators. While she is transitioning from her position with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands, Jennifer will continue to work closely with her clients living in the Hawaiian Home Lands on Moloka‘i, but her reach will also extend to the broader farm population as well. She will also now be in charge of the Moloka‘i Research and Demonstration Farm and the edible crops outreach on Lana‘i.

Jennifer has many years of experience in Extension, in Arkansas as well as with UH. She also has several years of working with the Maui County Office of Economic Development on Moloka‘i. All of these experiences will serve her—and her clients!—well in her new position.
