WERA-20 Conference: Registration Now Open

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience (CTAHR) is honored to host the 2026 Western Education/Research Activity-20 (WERA-20) conference on the beautiful island of Maui. 

Hosted by CTAHR’s Department of Plant and Environmental Protection Sciences, this event brings together experts to discuss emerging disease threats, review new detection protocols, and plan collaborative research to reduce economic losses from viruses on specialty crops such as fruits and woody ornamentals.

Program Overview
May 6-7: WERA-20 meeting
May 8: Full-day field trip

Registration Open Through April 15
In-Person attendance: The $300 registration fee includes field day transportation and lunch and refreshments all three days. Please specify any dietary preferences when signing up.
Virtual attendance: A no-cost Zoom option is available for those unable to travel.

Lodging & Travel 
A block of rooms is available at the Hampton Inn & Suites Maui North Shore (130 W. Kaʻahumanu Ave, Kahului, HI 96732).
The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the UH Maui College campus; however, complimentary transportation between the two locations will also be provided.
