We were thrilled to be part of the highly anticipated return of the Hawaiʻi State Farm Fair earlier this month. Team CTAHR had 13 interactive tables and displays with games, coloring books for keiki, and a petting zoo of locally grown fruits, vegetables, and flowers. It showcased our high-impact research and vital community programs that support local agriculture and build stronger, more resilient families and communities. Our new Associate Dean for Research, Kevin Olival, even jumped right in and took home first prize in the corn shucking contest! A huge mahalo to our CTAHR staff, Extension, and faculty who gave their all to make our CTAHR presence shine. Thank you, as well, to our dedicated colleagues at Hawaiʻi 4-H and the Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau! They did incredible work to revive this community tradition after the pandemic-induced hiatus.
