CTAHR alumnus Les Fuchigami is mentioned in the Star-Advertiser’s front-page story about Lana‘i’s plans for high-tech agriculture. Les, who grew up on Lana‘i, earned a degree in Horticulture with a minor in Plant Pathology from UH and also served as Department Head of Horticulture and Interim Associate Dean of Extension. He is partnering with Larry Ellison, the owner of most of Lana‘i, who plans to create giant sustainable greenhouses to grow cheap, fresh local produce.
