Extension agent wins scholarship

En Route to Colorado

4-H Extension agent Becky Settlage of the Komohana Research and Extension Center in Hilo has been awarded a $575 scholarship by the Roy A. Goff Memorial Endowment Fund to participate in the National Conference of Epsilon Sigma Phi, the Extension Professionals’ Organization, in October in Colorado.

Becky looks forward to learning about successful fundraising, using text messages as a powerful education tool, and experiential learning and problem-solving techniques, and to making new contacts with other Extension professionals for future collaborations.

The Roy A. Goff Endowment, which supports professional development for CTAHR Extension faculty and staff, is managed by representatives of Epsilon Sigma Phi Extension organization, Hawaii Association of Extension 4-H Agents, and the Hawaii Association of County Agricultural Agents. The call for applications for the next scholarship will be announced in early 2020. For information about the scholarship, email Julia Zee at zee@hawaii.edu.
