Before his appointment, Justice Wilson served as the director of the Department of Land and Natural Resources, chair of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, chair of the State Water Commission, and a trustee of the Kaho‘olawe Island Reserve Commission. He is also a member of the Climate Change Task Force for the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and a member of the World Commission on Environmental Law of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
