Interested in biofuels from oilseeds? Come to a special seminar in the TPSS Departmental Seminar Series, where Jay Thelen, a professor of biochemistry at the University of Missouri – Columbia, will be discussing “New Insights on the Regulation of de Novo Fatty Acid Synthesis in Plants.” Dr. Thelen’s lab studies how to leverage findings about the regulation of de novo fatty acid biosynthesis in plants to improve oil production. Toward this goal, he employs quantitative proteomics tools and technologies to understand metabolic regulation. https://cafnr.missouri.edu/person/jay-thelen/

Faculty, researchers, and students are welcome at the seminar on Friday, October 18, 1:30–2:30 p.m. in St. John 106. If you can’t make it in person, you can join in using this Zoom link. If you want to get more serious about your study, you can meet with Dr. Thelen in person after his talk. Contact Mike Muszynski (TPSS) at mgmuszyn@hawaii.edu to schedule a meeting with him.
